OOTD & FOTD: FABB Birmingham

Wednesday, 29 October 2014

Hi puddings
What would a blogger event be without the compulsory outfit and face of the day posts?

To celebrate me abandoning my usual vanilla scruffiness for the day, I thought a little post was in order about my day out at the FABB bloggers event in Birmingham - you can read about what happened on the day here. I saw a lot of Twitter chat about people not knowing what to wear to the event, but everyone looked pretty well turned out to me when I got there.

There were a lot of berry lips, dark leather, fedoras, ankle boots and faux-fur in evidence!

Before the event, I’d decided to do something along the lines of leather myself, so here’s what I came up with..

Grey boyfriend t-shirt – Primark

Black leather pencil skirt – River Island
Perspex floral necklace – eBay
Leopard print pointed flats – Primark
Burgundy quilted Mademoiselle bag – PopKors

If there’s one thing I’ve learned from going to these events its that you’re generally on your feet an awful lot, so flatties are a must for me.

I opted for these cute little leopard pumps – they’re a bit dressier but still very comfy.

I’m still loving the slouchy tee and pencil skirt silhouette at the moment, its been a go-to for me this year. So I paired my trusty grey boyfriend tee with a black leather skirt.

A bit of wow came courtesy of this huge, chunky clear Perspex floral necklace, one of my most worn items at the moment. It just dresses everything up amazingly. It was from an eBay seller in Korea and it only cost about £6.00.

To amp up the lady like vibe, I took my beautiful ‘Mademoiselle’ bag from PopKors. Its made so well and really looks the part, plus I’m just in love with the oxblood colour and the pewter hardware.

I might even get this is a couple of other colours eventually because I’m so impressed with PopKors. Its my first port of call for bags now.

Makeup Notes

On to the make-up! I kept it really classic and went for a failsafe look – fire engine red lips and daytime, subtle smoky eyes. I just felt like my monochrome outfit needed a pop of colour to really lift it.
