When fashion and beauty make up such a large part of your life, people can be intimidated about what to buy for you.
After all, what do you get for the woman who already knows exactly what she wants? Even though I write a lot about what's in trend, it's the simple things that make me the happiest.
I'm pretty low maintenance, honestly!
I think I attribute that to motherhood more than anything. Having your own little bundle of joy gracing the world allows you to put a lot more into perspective.
You learn to cherish the little moments that make your heart melt. I'd be lying if I said that being a mum hasn't changed my outlook.
When people (my husband) worry about what I might like when my birthday and Christmas roll around, I assure them that I appreciate anything. After all, It's the thought that counts.
And besides, you can be sure that the things I have my eye on are already being saved up for. Anything else is just a bonus. If you're worried about what to get your lady for that special occasion, read on.
I've put together my thoughts and experiences on how to buy for the fashion-focused woman.
First things first, do NOT try to buy her what you think she'll like, guys.
It's sweet that you pay attention, but chances are you'll be way off the mark. She already has a favourite brand of perfume. She already has her heart set on that new handbag in particular.
By all means, ask her to pick something out, but keep surprises of this nature at a premium.

Women often value effort over what you actually buy. It's nice to know you care. Take your time on picking something out and your effort will be appreciated. Think outside the box.
Give them something that shows you've been thinking long and hard about them. Get it gift wrapped and write a cute message on the tag.Anything to show them how much they mean to you. This is much more important than any material object you could buy.
Maybe think about getting something that isn't physical. Every woman in the world is going to appreciate a spa day, or a weekend retreat. Create some memories for her and that will earn you extra brownie points!
At the end of the day, women mostly just want to be pampered and feel special. Whatever you get her, make sure she knows how much you appreciate her!
