Don’t you just love a bit of sneaky midweek hauling?
I picked up a couple of items recently and wanted to do a kind of mini haul post rather than my usual epic monthly ones. They can get a little long and rambling, so I think I smaller ones might be the way forward!
I found myself in town this week and although I wasn't really in the market for anything in particular, I came across some brilliant bargains and make-up bits that called my name. Isn't that always how you find the best things?
Here are the little treats I picked up that I'm absolutely loving:
The Detangler Limited Edition Metallics
This little beauty caught my eye doing the food shop of all places, and although I successfully resisted its lure for a couple of weeks, eventually I caved and grabbed one along with my milk and baguettes.
Like a lot of girls, I worship at the altar of Tangle Teezer and since discovering them several years ago I haven’t used any other type of hairbrush.
Now this is obviously based along those lines and is one of the millions of imitators that have appeared. But the thing with Tangle Teezers is I’m not a fan of the neon pink and black colourways they come in, I think they make the brush look like something you’d groom a dog with!
So when I saw this, with its oh so pretty cream and rose gold finish of course I wanted it (is there any girl who can resist rose gold anything at all?).
The Detangler promises all the usual – multi-length, flexible pins that give pain-free detangling, easy use on wet and dry hair, adding shine and massaging the scalp. I just love this type of brush and here the finish is so pretty.
I remember those awful plastic vent brushes everyone used to have in the 90s and how it hurt like hell when my mum brushed my waist length knotty hair with them. We must never go back to those dark days!
Eylure Enchanted Lashes – Beloved
As you know I love my lashes and absolutely can’t go without! This style caught my eye because of the pretty floral print box and when I looked closer, I really loved the look of them.
They’re quite subtle but have a very pretty graduated cut with longer lashes at the outer corners. Come-to-bed eyes, anyone? There are a few other styles in this little collection that I’m keen to try too.
I really like Eylure as the lashes fit me so well and are great quality. Its pretty much that or Ardell that I wear on a daily basis. There’s nothing like a little flutter power to make me feel my best, and my theory is that it distracts from the eye bags a little to have nice lashes!
NYX Lip Lingerie Liquid Lipstick - Ruffle Trim
I featured another shade from this line, ‘Babydoll’, in my spring beauty haul post and I liked it so much I picked up this darker colour too!
The line is a range of matte liquid lipsticks all in nude shades, and I like them because they’re a sort of one-swipe deal. ‘Ruffle Trim’ is slightly darker and more mauve and I think it looks better with my skin tone.
Generally, I’m not a huge fan of matte formulas despite them being the last word in lip trends at the moment, but these might have changed my mind a bit. They’re not too drying, but I tend to apply lip balm over the top.
The applicator is easy to swipe on, like a gloss and the colour is really long lasting, which is essential as I never get a chance to top up with the baby to look after.
Freedom Pro Studio Glycolic Glow Toner
This exfoliating toner is the first high street brand dupe I’ve seen for the cult Glow Tonic by Pixi which has all the bloggers buzzing, and for just £6 I had to give it a try.
With Glycolic Acid, Ginseng and Aloe Vera it sounded really nice and has all the right stuff in to keep skin smoothed and glowing. I like the packaging of their skincare a bit better than the makeup, and although I don’t find their moisturiser offering very exciting, this could tempt me to try some of their make-up remover range.
Since picking this up, I've become addicted. It leaves my skin looking really fresh and velvet-smooth, so I've been swiping it on day and night. I think its having a really good effect on my skin. The only thing I'm not keen on is the scent, which is very chemical and a bit like nail polish remover!
Ted Baker Opulent Bloom Makeup Bag
I am literally the queen of makeup bags. I can't resist them and I usually don't even try. I probably have more makeup bags than actual handbags at this point. And yet I still cant resist a new one.
So I was sniffing around TK Maxx and I spotted this super cute little pouch, and of course I couldn't say no. For one thing, I love a bit of Ted. And I especially love this print, Opulent Bloom. My phone case is the same print, so the opportunity to score this matching pouch was just too tempting.
I'm not normally into flowery things but for some reason Ted Baker's moody blooms really appeal to me. It's the rock take on florals!
This is really nicely made with thick coated material and it's a good compact size to use in my bag as I don't tend to carry a tonne of makeup with me.
Best of all? This should have been £24.99 but was just £12.99 in store. Love!
Makeup Revolution Iconic Pro Blush, Bronze & Brighten – ‘Golden Hot’
This is a repurchase for me, a product I keep coming back to. The little palette contains a bronzer, a blusher and a highlight colour, and they’re all really densely pigmented and great quality.

There are four different shade variations, and this is first time I’ve tried this one, which seems to be much warmer colours, and the blush in particular is more of a dusky pink, where it seems brighter in the other ones.

This is one of my favourite products from Makeup Revolution as it just works so beautifully. It’s a good dupe for Urban Decay’s Naked Flushed blush palette, but having owned both, this actually has the edge for me, despite being cheaper – now that’s definitely winning…
Makeup Revolution Radiant Light Powder – ‘Breathe’
One of the products I’ve long wanted to try is the Hourglass Ambient Lighting powder but its so expensive I can never seem to quite justify it (and I can justify a lot…). So when I heard there was a cheap dupe for it, of course I had to give it a go.
A while back they released a palette to dupe the Hourglass one, but I was most interested in the shade ‘Breathe’, so I just got the single.
It’s a golden apricot colour, and so subtle. I wear it all over my face as a setting powder and its not horribly sparkly or anything, it just gives a beautiful luminous finish and distracts from all my skin imperfections!

I’ve fallen in love with this powder and its already become part of my every day products – I can see it being something I buy again and again. The payoff is rich and glowing and gives just the right amount of radiance to tired skin.
So that's my little latest haul....what have you been discovering lately? Let me know.
