OOTD | Day To Night Wedding Guest Look | Part 2

Tuesday, 13 September 2016

Welcome back! So, in the first part of this post, I showed you my wedding guest outfit for the big day of our lovely friends, Phil and Vicky.

As I don’t have too many chances to go out and get dressed up these days, I decided to change my outfit for the evening. Its not often (read: never) we get a baby-free weekend away in a hotel, so it had to be done!

During the day, I had tried to pick an outfit that still reflected my sense of style and made me feel comfortable. But for evening, I wanted to go for something a bit more glamorous and have some fun dancing the night away with all of our friends.

Its very rare that we can all get together these days, as we’re spread out over the country and the world. And of course, now we’re parents, Seb and I normally want to go home early. But not on this night!

Night Wedding Guest Outfit

Black suede strappy camisole | Primark
Blush leather pencil skirt | River Island
Rough cut agate bracelet | H&M
Quartz pendant necklace | Topshop
‘In The Bag’ oyster clutch | Katie Loxton
Metal heel black strappy sandals  | Kurt Geiger

I loved getting dressed up for the reception party! I put on my nude leather pencil skirt, which is such a beautiful piece. I’m a little bit obsessed with leather things, and a leather pencil skirt is one of my wardrobe staples. The pretty blush colour of this makes it a bit different.

Originally, I had planned to wear this during the day with a navy silk cropped jumper, but I lost my nerve about wearing something so form-fitting for the ceremony in the end. At night, with the cover of darkness, I was more comfortable with it.

The skirt was paired with a black strappy suede camisole. I’d been searching high and low for a piece like this – why is it always the simplest things that are hardest to find? I would never have expected to find the perfect one in Primark of all places. But the fit and the suede finish on this one are so nice!

I paired it with some strappy black sandals with a metal heel from Kurt Geiger and this pretty oyster coloured clutch bag from Katie Loxton -  I love the range of little clutches and accessories there.

For jewellery, I wore the my current favourite quartz necklace from Topshop and this rough-cut agate bracelet which was a find from H&M.

I loved dancing the night away in this outfit and celebrating with all our friends together. Top and skirt combinations are so much more versatile than a dress. Consider separates your new wedding best friend!
