Letters from Lake Garda | Day Two OOTD

Wednesday, 3 May 2017

Day two of our trip has been a little more of a mixed bag with the weather. It was forecast to be thunderstorms all day, so we weren't sure what we were going to be able to do, but luckily although it rained a little in the morning, it cleared up to a sunny afternoon.

We decided to hop on the train and go to Verona, which is only 20 minutes away from Pescheria. We visited Verona and Venice on our babymoon a couple of years ago, and although it had always been my dream to see Venice, I actually fell more in love with the laid back vibe and beautiful cobbled streets of Verona.

Being an English Lit student, I also loved visiting Juliet's balcony, and I had the best pizza of my life there! In fact, we made sure to go back to the same pizzeria, in the shadow of the ampitheatre, to let Theo sample a little slice of heaven, too.

Day Two

Blue linen shirt | Primark
White skinny jeans | Mango
Tan leather belt | Zack Hunter
Nude jelly pumps | Vivienne Westwood
'Anoushka' sunglasses | Tom Ford
Neverfull GM in Damier Ebene | Louis Vuitton

So can you believe my blue linen shirt was a total Primark bargain? I haven't shopped there in such a long time, but I ordered a swimsuit recently that didn't arrive in time for this holiday, so I decided to dash there one lunchtime the other week and get a new one that wouldn't cost the earth, as my original could still be showing up. And I spotted this lovely shirt on a mannequin there. It just looked so summery and easy to wear.

White jeans are something I haven't worn in a while, but I've been inspired by an Instagrammer I follow (shoutout to Pattys Kloset!) who has been showing some great looks recently with white denim, so I dug them out. I even attempted the fashion 'half tuck'!

And from low-end to high-end (great fashion doesn't discriminate!). My favourite nude flats have featured on here before, I've had them for quite a few years -  I gifted them to myself for my birthday a while back! They're smart but comfortable and they're like a jelly shoe, which makes them perfect for rainy days.

The shades are a must-have. They have that exaggerated cats eye shape that reminds me of 50's movie stars - like they should best be paired with a headscarf and a convertible! And my Neverfull is pretty much always my go-to airport bag as you can fit so much in - its got to be either that or a Le Pliage as the ultimate holiday bag.

What do you like to carry with you when you travel?

  1. I absolutely love this outfit and have serious holiday envy right now.

Tbh when it comes to clothes I don't really have any holiday must haves but the one thing I always take is hand gel.

  2. Those shoes are adorrrrrable!!
I love how you manage to combine high street and designer pieces so perfectly. Who knew Primark would look so fab with Vivienne Westwood?! This is why I think you're a fab fashion blogger. You have the key pieces, but it's all still so attainable.
