At this time of year, all things beauty tend to get a little out of hand. There’s just something about the constant cold weather that really throws us off.
And when you’re not prepared for it, it can come as quite the shock. When your skin starts to feel a lot drier and loses its glow, it can be frustrating. But throw into that the idea of your hair getting a little tired too, and it can really start to bring you down.
As much as it might seem hard not too, you’re going to want to make sure that this doesn’t drag you down too much. Instead, you’re going to want to focus on the things you can do to give your hair a winter revival.
Christmas seems to be approaching very suddenly. It’s a fantastic time of year to be enjoyed and celebrated. But, your skin and Christmas are sure to have a complicated relationship. While you want to sparkle with glowing, youthful skin for all the Christmas parties and festive events, cold winds, late nights, unhealthy foods and more alcohol than usual can leave your skin dry, sore and spotty. The very last thing you want in all the Christmas selfies.
But, what can you do about it? With that many products on offer you’d need to take out second charge loans to afford them all, it can be hard to know what to do for the best.
However, the sooner you start your Christmas skin prep, the more chance it’s got of shining bright in time for the big day. Here’s a look at all of the things you can do to ensure your skin looks and feels great this festive season.
And so it begins. The shops are beginning to crank up ‘Santa Baby…’, festive lattes have crept into all the coffee bars, and the floodgates have opened on seasonal tv adverts. Christmas is coming, and I couldn’t be more excited.
Over the last decade I’ve been slowly getting more and more Christmassy, and now that I have an excited 2-year old I think we have officially reached peak Christmas in the house! In the flurry of finding gifts, wrapping, baking mince pies and general chaos, suddenly you stop and think- what do I wear?
Christmas jumpers have become an absolute must do for stylish Brits who love a big dose of irony with their turkey, and I love a festive knit!
For the ultimate desk-to-dancefloor look, it’s all about how you style your jumper, for a party look that’s fun and never tries too hard.
PrettyLittleThing have an amazing collection of Christmas jumpers that are on trend and affordable with their usual dose of chic. Here’s how I’d style up two of my favourites:
What is your personal wellness goal? It could be finding more energy, getting your glow back, sleeping better at night or welcoming more calm into your life.
Often it feels like we’re fighting against nature – our 24/7, always-on society makes it nearly impossible to switch off, and I often feel we cause ourselves harm by moving further away from the natural rhythms in life – from the order of day and night, the march of the seasons and the beat of our own circadian rhythms.
Hello Day believe that too, and its inspired their tailored approach to wellbeing through the seasons. If you’ve noticed your energy levels dropping, your skin and hair becoming dry and dull and a general feeling of sluggishness as the seasons change, you aren’t alone.
Hen ‘do’-s (or ‘bachelorette parties’, if you're American). They are the Marmite of the social occasion world. You either love them or hate them, but either way knowing what to wear for one can be a bit of a tricky decision. But assuming it's not all L-plates and flashing headbands, I'm on board with the whole thing. After all, there's nothing better than a bunch of girlfriends hell-bent on having a good time and sending their friend off into the embraces of matrimony in style!
I could be accused of playing it a little safe when it comes to makeup. Generally, my goal is to look like a better version of myself, so I favour neutral colours and quite a ‘vanilla’ approach in my day to day life. So sometimes it's really fun to go all out and make a big switch up.
The world has its eyes on South Korean skincare. Just lately, the Asian nation even seems to have overtaken the French as the recognised global authority on all things skin.
The beauty-obsessed country has a cultural emphasis on picture-perfect skin that takes the humble cleanse/tone/moisturise routine to a whole other level, with 40 minute long 10-step regimes being pretty standard there.
Pretty much all of the skincare innovations produced by Western beauty houses in recent years have been copies of Korean imports - BB and CC creams, cushion foundation, ombre lips, essences, sleeping packs and sheet masks; you name it. Packing, ingredients and techniques are all pouring out of the country and onto our shelves.

If the answer to either of these questions is yes, then you know that you have to do something sharpish to give your image a much-needed overhaul.
You want to be spontaneous and surprise people with a whole new look. You could, of course, dye your hair and get a piercing or even a tattoo, but these tend to wreak of mid-life crisis rather than image revival. Take a look at these sensible, albeit, expensive ways to give yourself a whole new look...
What do you get when you put together a bunch of excitable bloggers, some innovative gift ideas, a YouTube star and a wave of prosecco? The answer is the Prezzybox Jingle Mingle event, which I was very hyped to go along to last week.
When you’re a blogger, one of the nicest things is making friends and contacts with others in the blogging world. What can begin as quite a lonely, isolated hobby, typing away in your bedroom, can blossom into some really fabulous times, and events like this are what makes it all happen.
Back when I first started blogging, I was properly in the closet with it – only my boyfriend knew I was doing it. I felt almost as if it was a shameful secret that I didn’t want people closest to me to know! If you want to grow though, you don’t have much option but to be transparent and authentic – and that includes owning up to what you do. A lot of bloggers can probably relate to that.
I had all sorts of worries about not being taken seriously in my career and the judgement of people I knew, but its only through facing those fears (and also being a lot older now, which definitely helps with not caring what other people think so much) that I’ve been able to feel comfortable with my passion project.

Jeans are a year-round go to in England, but in winter, they really come into their own. Whether you are out shopping, having a casual day or going out on the town, jeans are the ideal way to stay warm. How you wear your jeans can really make a difference to your whole outfit so it’s easy to wear the same pair over and over to different occasions.
Denim has always been something of an enigma in the fashion world. At once casual and formal, this material has been making waves since the 90s when everyone wore double denim. While double denim may have tried to make a few comebacks since, and has even been spotted on a few celebrities this summer, there are all sorts of other trends you could be rocking that don’t need quite so much confidence.
The Iconic jeans for you may not be high-waisted or skinny, but worn with the right silk shirt or comfy jumper, they will be just as versatile. In fact, you should feel encouraged by those celebs who still wear double denim because clearly, fashion doesn’t change that much...

Sure, you can head out to high-street stores and purchase clothing from their winter collections, but you’re going to look the same as just about everyone else when you go for those girls nights out.
Considering that, there is some advice on that page that will point you in the right direction and ensure you never wear the same dress as other people in the club. Sometimes an original style is the best way to stand out from the crowd.
