Like a breath of fresh air, the Look Fantastic beauty box has really revitalised my love of beauty subscription services. While Glossybox, Birchbox and Latest In beauty have all proved hit-and-miss for me, LF have so far been really consistent in delivering exciting new items that I’ve loved trying out. Every box so far has been exciting! So when the June offering landed, I practically skipped to the Post Office to collect it…
June’s box was all about helping us to embrace summer, and as we’re actually having a hot, sunny one for once, I am totally on board with that. The focus is on hydration, luminosity and rejuvenating products, and there were some brilliant brands and great treats on offer…
Madara SOS Hydra Moisture + Radiance Mask
If there’s one thing my skin really needs at the moment, it's a major hit of moisture, and this little skin treat promises to deliver that. Offering a hydrating, organic treat there’s a beautiful soft, powdery scent and a cooling feel to the mask that leaves your skin smoothed out and toned. The heatwave lately has been leaving my skin feeling parched, so I’ve been trying popping some of this on just before bed for an extra treat.
Elemis Superfood Facial Wash
Although it's great to discover new brands, I also love it when the big-hitters turn up in our boxes, as discovering new products from them is also amazing! Coincidentally, I’ve just run out of the facial wash I was using, so it's a good time to try out a new one. This is packed with ingredients that wouldn’t look out of place in a smoothie - wheatgrass, kale and nettle - to provide a gentle cleanse which also lifts away dirt, grime and left-behind make-up. As well as a fresh feel, it promises to boost the skins’ luminosity and give you a glow. As expected, it's fantastic quality and a beautiful product to use.
Christophe Robin Cleansing Volumising Paste with Pure Rassoul Clay and Rose Extract
I’ve heard a lot about this chic French haircare brand, so I was excited to see this product in the box. Hair can easily get overloaded in the summer - sweat, sunscreen and extra hairspray and serums take their toll - and this is designed to give a deep cleanse, absorbing oil and impurities and creating great root lift and volume. You can use it as a cleansing treatment or as a mask, and it also protects and strengthens coloured locks.
Studio 10 Liquid Foil i-Radiance
Liquid eyeshadows can be quite hit and miss, and it's hard to find one that lives up to a no-crease promise, but here it is! I love the look of foiled lids, and this silky mousse offers bold, creaseless metallic colour. You can layer it on top of powder shadow for an extra bold pop of colour. I find it works really nicely in the centre of the lid on top of a matte chocolate brown shadow, and you can also use under a metallic shadow as a primer. Genius!
Vita Liberata Fabulous Self Tanning Tinted Lotion
While I’m quite a scaredy cat when it comes to fake tan - which is out of my comfort zone - I have always been a fan of gradual tinted lotions, which take the risk out of things and just leave a nice, light kiss of colour. I do have my sworn favourite, but Vita Liberata is a great brand. Here, you get a lightweight body cream that also gently bronzes skin, slowly developing into a golden glow. If deeply conditioned, radiant skin that doesn’t look like you’ve been Tango-ed is your goal, I think you’ll like this. Plus, if you dread the ‘biscuity’ smell of most fake tans, this clever lotion has Odour Remove technology.
Rituals The Ritual of Dao Body Cream
Every product I’ve tried from Rituals has been absolutely gorgeous, so I was happy to unwrap this. With White Lotus and Yi Yi Ren, an ingredient traditionally used in Chinese medicine, you’re getting a rich but non-greasy cream that smells divine and melts into the skin. Perfect to alternate with the Vita Liberata to keep limbs looking smooth and polished!
So LF Beauty have pulled it off again - another great box with winning products. I adore this subscription - if you’re feeling underwhelmed with others, it's well worth a try!
