Look Fantastic Review | November 2018

Tuesday, 27 November 2018

Look Fantastic is the best beauty subscription box in the game. Over the years, I've tried them all and it's the one that has consistently delighted me. So, what would November's offering bring?

This month is all about embracing the darker nights, getting cosy, and prepping for the upcoming party season, and the Look Fantastic box with it's theme of ‘Dark Wonder’ was definitely on the same page.

Laura Gellar Baked Gelato Swirl Illuminator | Gilded Honey

The beauty groups I'm a part of seem to be pretty obsessed with these highlighters, but I had never tried them before.

The perfect treat for party season, when you want to be glimmering and glowing. The shade is way more gold than I'd normally go with a highlight but I was pleasantly surprised how flattering the finish was when it's sheered out.

The texture of this is gorgeous, as it glides on like a cream but has a powder finish. The golden colour is way more natural than it looks in the pot, but it's also pigmented enough to be used on lids or even as a lipstick topper if applied with a brush that's been prepped with a spritz of Fix Plus.
This is beautiful and I can fully see why people love it!

REN Evercalm Global Protection Day Cream

Each day, our skin is bombarded with pollutants and free radicals that cause a lot of damage and irritation, not to mention causing aging.

A good day cream is the first line of defence, and this one from REN is especially good if you have sensitive skin that gets red at this time of year.

For me, this is missing an SPF as that's a must in any day cream, but it feels lovely and soothing and would be a great solution for anyone experiencing winter redness.

Bubble T Dark Wonder Bath Bomb

I absolutely love a deep bubble bath, but I've never had bath products come in a beauty box before, which seems like a real oversight!

On A Sunday night, I claim my hour of me time in the bath with candles and face mask, so I'm definitely looking forward to adding this beautiful bath bomb to the mix!

Infused with Acai and Hibiscus, this exotic fizzer is just the treat to brighten up dark winter nights and smells divine. It also claims to soften and smooth skin, and I'm super excited to try it.

Mellow Precision Pen Eyeliner

A feline eye is always a makeup must in my book, and I love pen style eyeliners because they're just so easy to use. With a super fine tip, this liner makes it simple to do a subtle line or a big fat rock n roll swoop.

I'm pretty much sold on Revolutions Renaissance Flick as being the best eyeliner I've tried, but I'll happily give this a go. Mellow isn't a makeup line I've come across before, so I'm keen to test it out.

Elemis Papaya Enzyme Peel

Elemis is a favourite brand of mine and a big hitter for a beauty box to include. I have tried and really liked this facial peel before so I was happy to see this in the box.

It's really gentle and non-gritty, but works well to dissolve grime and dead skin cells and leave you with the face of dreams. There's also antioxidants to reverse pollution damage, seaweed actives and Vitamin E, so the finish is pretty smooth.

A hero product if ever there was one.

Contour Cosmetics Matte Liquid Lipstick

Our final treat this month was this fab liquid lipstick in a pretty nude pink shade that is perfect for everyday.

The great thing about this is that it stays put all day and can also be used as a cheek colour, plus unusually for a matte lipstick it's very non-drying.

The colour is really dense and pretty and the shade is super flattering. You can also sheer the colour out a bit with a Beauty Blender if you want a softer look.

Add the pretty rose gold packaging to that and I have a new favourite for my morning routine.

Another belter from Look Fantastic, the top of the charts for a beautiful luxury box of treats to lift your mood and your month.
