To say that this year has been a bit of a shocker is a complete understatement, so I think most of us are more than ready for some festive cheer. I've been looking forward to Christmas in a major way.
The kids at 5 and 2 are at the peak ages to be excited and basically since late November we've been shamelessly encouraging it with lots of gingerbread baking, festive film watching and mince pie eating. I don't even know who's more excited at this point.
And of course, as Christmas is a ritual, what we wear has to figure somewhere.
Some people go for comfort at Christmas and basically wear pyjamas all day while others aren't happy with anything less than full on glitz.
I try to tread a middle ground - as we are at home this year, hosting and cooking, I wanted to be a little relaxed. But this year also needs all the sparkle you can throw at it.
Black cashmere turtleneck jumper | Pure Collection
'Python' embellished skirt | All Saints
Fleece lined thermal tights | Marks and Spencer
Pearl studded biker boots | Zara
Natural rough cut diamond pendant | RoseandRabbit @Etsy UK
Pearl and crystal ear climbers | Phillip Jones
What could be better when you want to stay cosy but also a bit dressed up than the combination of a snuggly knit and a beaded skirt?
I paired this relaxed, super soft plain black cashmere rollneck with a classic - the stunning, heavily beaded 'Python' skirt from All Saints and a pair of warm tights. It felt like the best of comfort and festive sparkle all at once.
On my feet when we popped out, I wore my new (ish) biker boots from Zara. I am obsessed with these.
I adore a clompy boot worn with more delicate, feminine items to give them a bit of bite and I also love the beautiful pearl and black crystal detailing on this pair, which really elevates them.
For accessories, I chose this wildly gorgeous rough cut diamond pendant to pick up on the sparkle of the skirt, and a pair of crystal and pearl ear climbers.
This outfit was so easy to wear and felt really good. No matter where you are this year and how or with whom you're celebrating, I wish you all the festive joy and hope for a brighter, peaceful New Year.
Hey everyone! I donned my favourite fuzzy socks and soft trousers with a cosy red jumper adorned with snowflake designs on Christmas Day. With family, it was the ideal ensemble for spending time together, unwrapping gifts, and indulging in holiday delicacies. I loved mamas blog outfit as well. Cheers!! What attire did each of you wear?
