I guess I’ve been focusing on other things and enjoying using the products I’ve already got. As part of my #Project2016, I’ve also been trying to use up stuff I already have and streamline my collection a little bit.
But this month, I did end up getting quite a few beauty items and stocked up on some things, plus I found a couple of new must-haves I really wanted to try out. Here they are…

So, I love a bit of Makeup Revolution as we all know and I also love a bit of BritishBeautyBlogger, aka Jane Cunningham, and when I saw they'd teamed up to create a new palette of covetable shadows I knew we'd be on to a winner.
MUR produce some of the finest eyeshadows I've tried, drugstore or high end, but the prices are so friendly. For £9.99 you get a collection of the most beautiful 30 eyeshadows.
From mattes to pearls to baked through swirls, this thing is stunning.
The shade range is masterful too- somehow it's everything you want but still not predictable, which really shows it's been created by someone who lives and breathes beauty products.
From nudes and Rose golds to deep navy and plums, I feel like I'll have a use for every shade here, but also none of it feels predictable.

Not Able To Spend Your Friend's Birthday With Her? Here's How You Can Make It Special!

If one of your closest friends has a birthday coming up, the chances are that you want to make it extra special for her.
Whether you’ll be spending the day with her or will be seeing her afterwards, there are plenty of ways you can make her big day fun and memorable.
It’s easy to think that when we’re not able to celebrate with a friend that we can’t do anything to ensure their birthday goes well, but that’s not true.
There are plenty of things that you can do to make your besties birthday extra special even if you’re 1000 miles apart. For a little birthday inspiration, here are a few tips and ideas.
An artist is only as good as their tools, and that’s as true of makeup as it is of any other kind of creation.
The right brushes are probably the single best investment you’ll make to your collection. Good brushes can elevate a look no end and make even cheaper products go on flawlessly.
But good quality doesn’t have to cost the earth anymore. A wave of brands such as Real Techniques, Eco Tools and Lottie London are now providing great make-up tools for reasonable prices, and in some cases besting the expensive brands. I know I prefer my RT brushes to my MAC ones!
But what are you to do if you find yourself halfway through a killer makeup look, only to find you don’t have the right tools for the job?
A very happy half-birthday to my beautiful son and heir, Theodore. My little boy is six months old today. Here is an open letter to him to mark this day.

Weddings are very special occasions where each guest should make an effort with their look. Finding something beautiful to wear is a great start.
Then, you can think about how you’ll have your hair and makeup, as well as any accessories you need. Here are some tips you can use:
Here's a super quick Face of The Day. Quick is all I have time for now in the mornings with Theo to see it, even more so now that he eats solids as breakfast can be a bit of a slow process!
I've come to rely on a small handful of products that I know are easy to apply and work hard. A good tinted cream for my skin, a strong concealer, and a simple clean eye with some fluttery lashes.
It occurred to me the other day that I hadn’t shared any baby things for quite some time, so I decided to put together a post on some of the lovely stuff we’ve bought for Theo recently.
Time flies and he’s over 5 months old now. He’s always been a little on the small side, so he hadn’t actually outgrown his 0-3 months stuff - in fact, some of the things still fit him - but other things are getting a little small, so we’ve been on a bit of a baby clothes shopping spree for the next couple of sizes up.
Here’s some of his new wardrobe...
When it comes to hair washing, I always mix it up.
Back when I was a teen (oh how ancient I feel at the heavy past tense there!), my hairdresser at the time told me that I should always change the shampoo and conditioner I was using regularly.
The idea was that your hair somehow 'gets used' to the whichever formula you're using and it becomes less effective over time. A lot of shampoos coat your hair with substances like silicones, so I do think there's something in it.
Ever since then I've regularly switched up what I use on my hair, with varying results.
I have a little group of core favourites I rotate between (TIGI, John Frieda, Herbal Essences), but sometimes it's good to throw a wild card in and that's what I'm reviewing today.
Molton Brown have always been a favourite of mine for their gorgeous bath products and if you were to go in my bathroom you'd find lots of their bubble baths and things.
Their haircare and make-up, however, is not something I've tried. I'm not sure why. I guess I'm just wary when a brand I love so much expands into new territory. I don't want to be disappointed!
With a product like this, I expect divinity. I expect results. The bar is set extremely high. Would the Molton Brown Shampoo and conditioner leave me in heaven or out in the cold?
I got the Plum-Kado Glossing Shampoo and the Indian Cress Purifying Conditioner to try it out and see.

Having great skin can give you a fantastic confidence boost. After all, who doesn’t want a soft and radiant complexion?
If you find the secret to great skin, you’ll be feeling fantastic on the inside as well as outside.
The media tries to tell us that we need to spend heaps of money on miracle creams and serums for a youthful complexion. It doesn’t have to be so costly.
I’ve come up with the following routine that, if followed daily, will very much improve your skin and complexion.
Ready to unleash a new you?

You work hard, you play harder. That's the reality for many people in today's busy modern world.
Getting an early night, especially at the weekend when fun and friends beckon, can be no easy feat.
Severe FOMO (“fear of missing out”) can set in. Adequate rest and even just regular breaks have started to get a bad name. Eating at your desk has becoming expected. Showing up with eye bags and downing an energy drink is now the dorm.
Eight hours sleep a night is considered a luxury. A lunch break in which you can actually eat something nutritious or get away from your desk - maybe both - sounds decadent to some. But it’s time to start emphasising our down time.
Work and family commitments may make it impossible to rest and unwind during the day. That means it’s more important than ever to get serious about sleep.
