It's the most wonderful time of the year…we seem to have arrived at ‘Christmas Eve-Eve’ and in my house, we're in festive overdrive.
The presents are wrapped, the Christmas jumpers are on, and we've had the visit to Santa and the preschool nativity play. We are ready for Christmas!
And what better way to celebrate than with a box of festive beauty treats?
I had been saving the December Look Fantastic box since it arrived as a little bit of fun for after all the mama duties were done.
This Works Deep Sleep Pillow Spray
An award winning, super shut eye blend of Chamomile, Lavender and Vetiver, this will send you floating off on a cloud of calm.
I am a big fan of an aromatherapy pillow spray at night as they have such a relaxing effect. As a fan of This Works’ In Transit facial product, I have every faith that this will work beautifully to ease me into a deep and restful sleep.
This is the ideal size for travel, so I'm actually going to save it for going away as I often struggle to go to sleep in a new bed.
Dr Botanicals Pomegranate Superfood Brightening Eye Serum
As a bit of an eye product junkie, I was so excited to see this.
My lines, bags and dark circles are the bane of my life and I've tried so many different products to try and sort them out. With a toddler and a new baby, the amount of sleep I get can be less than ideal at the moment! I've been trying the Revolution Eye Serum but it hasn't been that impressive, so perhaps this will top it.
Infused with Raspberry Seed Oil, this aims to soothe and nourish the delicate under eye skin with powerful pomegranate antioxidants, reducing lines and leaving everything bright and refreshed.
Illamasqua Hydra Veil Primer
This sculptural little pot of darkness is a gel primer designed to hydrate and keep makeup firmly in place.
You can use it under base to give a dewy, hydrated finish or mix a bit in with the foundation and sheer it out - I imagine that this would work very well with chalkier foundation formulas like the Urban Decay All Nighter foundation.
I have been using the Laura Mercier Primer for a while now, so it'll be interesting to see how this stacks up.
Grow Gorgeous Scalp Detox
Have you heard of detoxing your scalp before?
Apparently, if you are looking to grow your hair it's a great way to get rid of dirt and product residue blocking hair follicles and stimulate blood flow to your scalp to promote growth.
It's a cooling formula that also contains castor oil beads, which are another well known remedy to promote hair growth. Used before shampoo, this will leave hair super clean and bouncy.
Karl Lagerfeld + ModelCo Brow Pencil
The one thing which can really transform the look of your face is your brows, so shaping and filling them in is quite important.
This pencil is super creamy - sort of like a brow pomade but in a stick. It's really highly pigmented, but using light pressure gives a great colour payoff.
I haven't been a huge fan of ModelCo’s products in the past when I've tried them, but this seems pretty nice and a good backup to keep in your handbag!
Look Fantastic Beauty Sponge
This is definitely my favourite beauty sponge, even over a Beauty Blender - I have one I've been using for a while already, so I was really pleased to get another.
The wedge shape is so much more useful than the rounded one other makeup sponges have, as it really allows you to get into the contours of the face and be precise with your blending. I use it for everything - foundation, contour, concealer, setting powder!
It's a real essential for me and really useful to get in the box.
A beautiful festive box of little pleasures, 2018 with LookFantastic has been great - there's not a single box I haven't loved. Here's to 2019!
